You'll note that the main Masters of the Universe characters look like their toy counterparts, not like the actors in the movie (whose costumes differ significantly from the toys)!
That's because the movie adaptation was published by Marvel's juvenile-themed line, Star Comics, which also published the ongoing comic based on the toy line/tv series, and they decided the young audience would be confused if the characters looked different!
New characters like Gwildor and the Earth-based humans were illustrated more like they appeared in the film.
Written by Ralph Macchio (not the Karate Kid actor), penciled by George Tuska (who drew the first MotU mini-series, published by DC in 1983, making him one of the few artists to illustrate the same character published by two comics companies!), and inked by Art Nichols!
