Captain's Library DINO-RIDERS "Path" Conclusion

We Have Already Seen...

...thrust back in time to perhistoric Earth, human-like extraterrestrials from Veloria and the Rulons, aliens descended from various species, continue their war.

The Velarians communicate with the dinosaurs, forming an alliance, which not all of the Veleron agree with!

OTOH, the Rulons force the dinosaurs to serve them as slaves...

Tomorrow, a Special Captain's Theatre Presentation: the UNaired Pilot Episode!

Developed by Gerry & Carla Conway from a concept for a new toy line from Tyco Toys, this first issue of the comic mini-series adapted (and expanded) the pilot episode.
Written by George Carragone, penciled by Kelly Jones, and inked by Danny Bulanadi, the expansion included somewhat adult elements that wouldn't have been allowed in the kid-oriented animated series!

Thanksgiving Turkey CONAN THE DESTROYER Conclusion

When Last We Left Our Barbarian...

...well, the poster pretty much summarizes the story, so let's jump in as the evil queen's henchman brings the princess back to be sacrificed to the sleeping god Dagoth...

Art by Bob Camp

One thing that may throw readers for a loop is that the Dagoth is colored throughout the comic like a human wearing a leotard instead of a grey stone statue (as in the movie).
So, while he's described as a "sleeping god", without showing him as an immobile statue, the plot point requiring the horn to be inserted to restore his non-stone form is lost!

Working from a screenplay by Stanley Mann based on a plot by Roy Thomas and Gerry Conway, the adaptation is written by Michael Fleisher and this part of it is laid-out by John Buscema and penciled/inked by Pat Redding, Bob Camp, and Charles Vess!

It appeared in Marvel Super Special #35 (1984) and Conan the Destroyer #2 (1985), but has not been reprinted in the 41 years since, including the various Dark Horse reprint series that purport to be complete re-presentations of all Marvel's Conan material!
BTW, those reprints also leave out the adaptation of the far superior 1982 Conan the Barbarian flick!

We Have Already Seen...

Conan and his associates are hired by Queen Taramis to assist Princess Jehnna steal a key (which only she can touch) from the wizard Thoth-Anon.
With the key, Jehnna can find the Horn of Dagoth and bring it to Taramis.

However, Taramis has instructed Jehnna's bodyguard, Bombaata, to slay Conan and his entourage once their task is completed.

With the key in hand, Conan and company escape Thoth-Amon's castle, just as it explodes...

Be here tomorrow for the big finale...
